Splenda study finds weight gain, health problems

From this Dallas Examiner article Splenda study finds weight gain, health problems:

“A new study out of Duke University published last week in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health suggests that the artificial sweetener Splenda and its key component sucralose may pose a number of health threats to people who consumer the product over time.

Among the problems the scientists observed in the rats they tested were a 50% reduction in the ‘good bacteria’ that play a role in immune health, weight gain and potential blocking of a number of drugs."
A couple of years ago I stopped drinking all soft drinks. I used to crave soft drinks; now I can’t stand to drink them. It is like drinking chemicals. I have also taken to adding honey and mint to my tea and adding honey and fruit to my breakfast. For me a few calories from honey is better than the zero calorie Splenda.
